Cross Country South Canterbury

In Room 12 we have three people that are going to run in the South Canterbury Cross Country for Bluestone on the 21 of June at Waihi School. The people in our class that are in it are Kate Gillan, Abriele Morse and Matthew Sorenson. We also have James Miller that is a reserve for the team. It is great that they are practicing around the school. We are very proud that we have people in our class that are in the team. Room 12 wish you all good luck.

Art

In Art we are doing clay pot's, and we had to learn how to attach pieces of clay to the clay. After that we got our little clay books out and we had to write how to attach clay properly. Here's an example :

First you get a toothbrush and make it a little bit damp. Then you scratch the object with the toothbrush where you want to put the bit of clay on to. You also have to scratch the clay piece where you want to stick it on. After that you stick it on firmly. We had a great time making things with clay.

The Musical

The musical "Make A Noise" is on next week.People that are doing the musical in room12 are... Annika, Holly, Renee, Hillary, Joel, Grayson, Sophie and Kate.

What is the musical mostly about?
These five girls that go down to a farmers market and busk.

Where is it going to be?
In the hall at Bluestone.

How do you feel about being in the musical / why?
I feel excited because I think it will be a great show and it will blow your minds away.

Who are you going to be in the musical?
A shopper, storyteller and I sing in the idol competition.

Cross Country

On May the 9th the year 5 and 6 went to the Scenic to walk the Cross Country track after lunch. It took 35 minutes from the bridge.

Room 12's rights and responsibilities

Last week we did rights and responsibilities. Mrs Eliot told us to write responsibilities in a group to rights that she wrote on paper. Next she gave us a piece of paper with rights on them and told us to highlight the 3 rights that we liked. These are the most popular rights :
*Learn in a safe, clean, quite and comfortable room.
*Be treated with respect as the same as every body else even if I have a problem or disability.
*Have my space when I need to work or want to be on my own.
*Be happy, have friends and have fun.
* Have a say/opinion.
* Breaks and have time to play and go to the toilet.
*Sometimes use the common space and the retreat.

I.c.t diary, last week

Dear Diary,
today we will not be doing i.c.t because Mr Fennessy is away. We are in room 12 and we did our normal daily things. Being in the normal class has taught us how lucky we are compared to other students who haven't had the chance to go in there yet. This week it is our last week in room 16 : ( . We are very sad. It is time for us to go and write other things, see ya.

Hi,
Lately we have had an idea that we could write a diary entry whenever we can. Here it goes...
In i.c.t we have been looking at new computer programs. A computer program we are looking at is Spore. Spore is an animated program which you can create, monsters, space rockets, cars, plans e.t.c....
